The sailing mechanics are based on two main components: sail and rudder.

SAIL

Sails come in a variety of types based on different materials, each with its own unique parameters and wind catching properties. Sails will age in time and will need repairing. In stormy conditions, it is advised to lower the sails to avoid it getting broken or blown away. Multiple sails can be placed on a raft at the same time to increase the speed of the raft. Sails can be operated independently from one another. When playing on easy mode, the sails will hold the rotation the player has set. When playing on harder difficulty settings, the sails will rotate with the raft.

RUDDER

A Rudder is used to manually steer the raft. Rudders age in time and will need repairing. Multiple rudders can be attached to the same raft, making turning easier. Multiple rudders are automatically linked together. Operating one of them will operate the others too.
